Constructing A New Leader

When I consider Leadership, there is always room for improvement. For example; there are things that are constant and one of those things is change. Today I have found that as I enter a new year, I must start thinking of constructing a new me. How about You do you feel the same.. What is needed for the construction project, cause believe me it's a project. The tools one needs are:
1) Prayer
Without God none of it is possible

2)Partnership
Can't do it alone

3) Pressure
not all pressure is good..but the pressure that makes you want better for your life is good

4)Purpose
Without it, you'll do it for only a season and not continue

lastlly> the tool we need
5) Persistence
Because it will not be easy!!

So how do we construct a new you....

It's within the pages of God's word
Phillipians 3
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Paul Gives Us key things that will help us:
But one thing I do:
1) Devotion
he did not say 5 things or 9 things I do, he said one thing

Need to be devoted to becoming a new us!
straining toward
2) Direction
We need to have direction as to what were aiming at to become

If we don't know where we're going how will we know
we got there

press on toward the goal
3)Determination
it will get difficult, and hard when you begin to make needed changes(ouch)
but if we keep on with it and not quit...

There is a new leaderon the horizons.. Thanks for stopping by the Leadership den..

till next time ...

Why Adversity?

Have you ever asked yourself, why does God allow adversity? I have more than a few times The Bible says: Many are the afflictions but..the Lord
I really hope this will be a sense of encouragement for you as I have experienced this hope.
For what's it worth, I might say that I have experienced some adversity and believe me, it isn't that fun when you're in the middle of it..
For leaders I think sometimes the people are looking to us to be somehow either exempt or unmoved. But allow me to be real> It's painful and I'm human (Amen)

Here is what I consider the 7 Reasons
Why God Allows Adversity To Come

read: 2 Cor 12: 1-7 and Isa. 48: 10 both speak of a type of adversity
Paul writes about his personal experience, the other speaks of God taking the children of Israel through..

Adversity def.> persistant cause of suffering / trouble
Heres the reasons: Which I recommend you share with others as well
1.To Get our attention

2. Expressing His Love towards Us

3. Examine Ourselves
Proverbs says:If you falter in times of trouble how small is your strength

in the book of Cor, Paul had "revelations"
4. To Conquer Our Pride

"In my weakness"
5. Reminding Us Of our Weaknesses

6. See the Truth become Real
And the Last reason: 2 Cor. 1: 4

7. God's way of preparing us to Comfort Others

Cling to theses passages as a reminder that God's on your side
Jn. 16: 33 & Acts 14:22
Until Next Time remember: Leaders are Readers.

Create Your Culture

It is the responsibility of the leader to create his/ her culture.
Oh did I mention what culture is?
Well culture: def: the way we do things. So if my culture is about leadership- then its the way we do things- on a leadership bias.
Here's an observation about culture, you either create it or it gets created by itself. The latter is most dangerous, because you cannot control it at all. So therefore you will soon realize that the way things are done in your church are not due to you at all. What a shame that when visitors or upcoming potential leaders arrive they will adapt to a culture that does not rereflect you. Is this making sense?
Some insight on how to create the culture you want:
1) Initiate what you want
2) Continually model what you want
For example- if want a family atmosphere then you got to take the neccesary approaches to creating that
3) Influence the key influencers
Who can team up with you to create that culture
4) Project and picture what you want
What gets pictured gets done..how thru conversations, sermons, deliberate instructions on the what and when
Lastly:
5) Give it time
Rome wasn't built in a day- neither will culture be created in a weekend service.

Hey remember: leaders are readers
And thanks for stopping by the Leadership. Den
